Testimony of Bethany Pisney

Missions Trip to Daytona Beach, Florida

Surrender is the key to the Gospel. That is something that Evangelist Ron Reilly mentioned in the training on Wednesday. I could’ve never imagined what God would do when I first surrendered to go to Daytona for the first time in 2013. It was the farthest thing from easy for me to go up to someone and start a conversation, much less personally share the Gospel. Through my stammering and stuttering, God used me to lead my first soul to Christ that first missions trip. Now, fours years later, I have surrendered to go to the mission field, and it all started at Daytona!

All my thanks goes out to all of you who prayed and supported me to be able to go again to Daytona missions trip this year! The Lord does exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, and used 24 soulwinners to lead 397 people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! The Lord worked through me to lead 14 people to the Lord and many other assurances throughout 2 & 1/2 days walking up and down the beach witnessing to people. Hearts were prepared, and many were open to talking of Christ considering it was Easter weekend. More people listened to the Gospel than rejected me, and that has never happened before!

One of the most memorable stories was an one man that I shared the entire Gospel with. Although he still didn’t put his faith in Christ, he told me that he had already rejected one other from our group, and told her he was an athiest to get her to go away. It was a motivation to me to know that some plant, some water, but God gives the increase! Please pray for the countless that heard the Gospel at Daytona that they would believe, and for those who put their trust in Christ to grow in their faith!

Each person that God used me to lead to Christ I write down in the leaf of my New Testament. Every time I read over these names I am reminded of the indescribable joy that comes from seeing a soul bow their head to ask for forgiveness and to put their trust in Christ. To think of one soul spending an eternity without Christ because I did not tell them makes my heart cry out with sadness. To think of one soul spending an eternity with Christ because I shared the Gospel makes me tear up with tears of gladness! In the midst of the busyness of college, this missions trip was a much needed reminder why I am at studying missions here at Bible college-for souls.

Witnessing to the World

“And he said unto the, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

I want to welcome all of you to our 48th Annual Missions Trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. You are not here by accident, but the Lord has made it possible and He will change your life for the better through this experience.

We will have the opportunity to witness to people from all over the world. This is what we are commanded to do as seen in our text. (Mark 16:15) The commandment to witness to the world carries with it two very important promises which are unchangeable.

The first promise is the PROMISE OF HIS POWER TO PRODUCE. Matthew 28:18, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” After Jesus was raised from the dead (Matthew 28:1-3) He transferred this Power of the Holy Ghost to His disciples. Luke 24:49 “And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” We see this fulfilled in Acts 4:31 and this promise is for all of us today so that we might have boldness to win the lost to Christ. It is not convincing people to become a Christian. We cannot talk somebody into being saved from his or her sin. There must be the planting of the seed (Word of God) in the heart of a lost person and the power of the Holy Spirit works in his or her heart with convicting power to draw them to salvation in Christ. We must have His power upon us to produce.

The second promise is the PROMISE OF HIS PRESENCE TO PREVAIL. Matthew 28:20, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” No matter how people react to our witness, we have absolutely nothing to fear and we have confidence in His promise “I am with you always”. We have the presence of our Savior, Jesus, with us no matter what happens; therefore, we must have this in our heart.

Because of His promise, “I am with you always,” we can overcome all fear that Satan can throw at us and prevail in every situation that is presented by the world and the devil.

This can be one of the best weeks of your life if you will do 3 things.

  1. Surrender your vessel. Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
  2. Have a clean heart. Ask the Lord, as David did in Psalm 51:10a “Create in me a clean heart, oh God:”
  3. Witness with a right attitude (spirit). As David did in Psalm 51:10b “and renew a right spirit within me.”

Allow the Lord to use you to His glory.

Testimonies (continued – part 3)

(Continuation of testimonies of Daytona Missions Trips)

By Stephen Flint

“About one o’clock in the afternoon I saw a car pull up. I went over to talk to the occupants. When I got to the car I saw two men who were clearly members of a gang. Unsure what their response would be, I began to give the Gospel. I was surprised by their openness with me. After a day of much rejection it was blessing how willing and open they were. By God’s grace, I was able to lead to the Lord. This experience served as a reminder to me that it is not what we say or do when we witness; it is the Holy Spirit who must do all the work.”

Testimonies (continued)

(Continuation of testimonies from Daytona 47 Missions Trip)

By Carolyn Siegler, 17 year old witness
Campus Church
Pensacola, FL

“Today on the beach I witnessed to a girl who was about 13 years old. After she had accepted Christ as her Savior, her aunt standing next to her thanked me. She said that her niece had been sent to a private religious school, but that she hadn’t been allowed to learn about what I had just told her. I am thankful God allowed me to cross paths.

I am really grateful for the life skills that this Daytona Missions trip is teaching me. Now I have new boldness and I also know how to share my faith effectively. I can not wait to get home and tell some of the kids at my school about Jesus!  I have also learned humility in that it is not because of me that these people are accepting Christ, but because of God and His love! I’ve also learned that God can not fully use me when I’ve allowed other things to burden my heart. When we focus on God and put Him at the top of our priorities, everything else just falls into place.”

I want to allow you to read some of the wonderful testimonies by the young people and adults who stepped out with on our 47th Missionary Trip to Daytona Beach, Florida in 2014.

Oliver Sprigs, TN

“I had been having a rough morning and I had been praying non stop to not get discouraged. I was walking down the beach and I noticed two guys sitting on the tailgate of a truck. I walked past them several times, but didn’t talk to them. I cam back and finally talked with them and by the grace of God I led them both to the Lord! They both told me how happy they were that they got that settled. I am so thankful God gave me the chance to lead them to him. God is truly awesome!

Mariah Mastriano
Grace Baptist Church
Watkinsville, GA

“When we got back on the Beach from our first break, I right away started back witnessing to people ad every time I would start going through the plan of salvation this group of guys would walk by and shout stuff like, “You sinner, you need Jesus” and I just kept walking by them. So I purposed to talk to them. When I finally got the chance to talk to them, they told me straight up that they were going to Hell, and one of them said he would listen to what I had to say if I could find a verse that says God will save anyone. So I quoted Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” They stayed and listened to me and the Word of God. Every time they would ask a question God would work through me to say just what He wanted me to say. None of them got saved, but I was able to give them the whole plan of salvation and plant the seed of the Word of God.”

Matthew Bonifacius
Mount Pisgah Baptist Church
Oliver Springs, TN

Well, it started off when Brother Nate drops us off. And after 45 minutes of talking I came to two girls, and a husband and wife. I led them all to Christ and they got saved. And the wife told me she was glad I told her. And she told me that didn’t know if people cared because no one has ever asked her. And she was a big blessing and I remember how happy she was to know that someone cares.

Today I had the privilege of seeing quite a few teenagers accept Christ. One in particular was just standing there with his bike, at the beach, I approached him and asked him about eternity, and he told me he wasn’t sure where he’d spend it. I gave him the Gospel, And he accepted Christ as his Savior. After, he thanked me for sharing the truth with him. I just thank the Lord for the opportunity to see teenagers come to know Him, because many of them are searching.

Michelle Flint
Faith Bible Baptist Church
Unionville, VA

Today the Lord was teaching me more to get out of my box of what I would say to people when sharing the gospel with people. I was praying that God would give me the words that people need to hear. Several times when I walked up to people today they would say, “Oh I know what you are going to ask me.” So I asked the Lord for a different question to ask them. I asked several times, do you know for sure that you have come to God the way that He say in the Bible that we should? A lot of times God used that question to really start them thinking. A lot of times they were willing to let me show them some verse out of the Bible. Other times I was asking God for an open door to talk with people and share the gospel with them. Very soon after I saw some people with dogs and talking about and petting their dogs which provided an open door to start conversations to share the gospel with them. God showed me again and again today that I Him in order to share the gospel and that He will answer and provide the open door that is needed for the particular person that I am talking to. My sufficiency in witnessing is only in Christ even moment by moment. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be with AFC sharing the gospel with people as a teammate with other Christians and most of all for God’s leading and direction.

Testimonies from Missions Trip to Daytona Beach, Florida

Here are a few of the testimonies from some of the young people (witnesses) and adults (team leaders) who took the challenge which Jesus gave in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Sa-mar’-i-a, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Our prayer is that you will be challenged to be used by the Lord, just as these folks were, and prayerfully consider joining us March 26-29, 2014 to tell the old, old, story of Jesus and His love!

“On Thursday I watched one of my team (I have 2 boys and 2 girls on the team) go up to 3 guys and go through the Word of God, giving them God’s simple plan of salvation. They did not trust Christ. Then another young man walked by, and this same teenage boy, spoke to him, showed him God’s plan of salvation and that young man trusted Christ as Savior. Amazing to see – planting, watering – and God giving the increase! On Friday, Brother Chris called me on my phone and let me know that my son William, led this person to the Lord. That was a real blessing to me because he has never done this before and this was the first soul he won to Christ!

Thank God for everything He has done in the lives of our young people and team leaders!

Thank God for Brother Ron Reilly for the work which He has put Him in!”

Richard Ables, Team Leader, Imogene Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, NC 2012

“I was talking to a guy today who seemed interested, but then his friends came up to where we were and to me that and said that I was being very rude. The next few people I saw, I didn’t want to talk to, but then I came up to one guy who said his name was Trent. I led him through the plan of salvation, and he said he wanted to be saved. Before we prayed together and he turned to Jesus for salvation, he asked me if I was ‘picking’ out the people that looked back to talk to, or if I was speaking to people ‘at random’. I told him we were trying to talk to everybody! He said, ‘I’ve been talked to about this 8 times already and would not get saved. I am ready now to trust Christ as my Savior!'”

Sarah Yoder, A Teen Witness Campus Church, Pensacola, FL 2012

“I praise the Lord for the opportunity to bring my young people on the Daytona Missions trip with Ambassadors for Christ National, Inc. It has been amazing to see how God has used them! It has excited my heart to see the way my teens gave themselves to the Lord and the way they dedicated themselves to the work of sharing the Gospel.

This ministry gives teens the opportunity to experience full-time-ministry for a few days. I pray God will use the experience to call some into ministry full time!”

Adult Team Leader Matthew Rose
Grace Baptist Church, Hinesville, GA 2012

It started out as a slow day, from when we started till about 3 p.m I was having a hard time. Just about everybody didn’t want to listen and when they did they would let me get through the plan of salvation, but didn’t receive Christ. However the Lord kept sending Christians in my path to encourage me. Well as the day went by I was able to lead about five souls to Christ. Then three O’clock came, and at this point I was really tired and happy I got to lead lead some souls to Christ, but was hoping I could do more for Him. And right as all these thoughts were going through my head this guy and his wife were sitting in their car and I heard “Hey!” “Hey, over here!” I saw the guy calling me and I walked over there to see what he needed. He said, “I know what you are doing and if you would go talk to the two young ladies behind the car?” I said, “Yes sir.” And walked back to talk to them, and both of them asked Christ to come into their heart!! And in the last two hours of witnessing that day, I was able to lead thirteen souls to Christ!! Isn’t God awesome?! Just goes to show you if you want to be used for Christ, He will use you in the most amazing ways!!!

Daniel Wilson, Teen Witness, Daytona Missions Trip 2013
Bible Baptist Temple, Warner Robbins, GA

“In the early part of the day, I was a little discouraged. I asked God to please bring someone to me to lift my spirits. A group of three teenage girls started walking my way, so I stopped them. They seemed a little bit disinterested at first, but I did get to show them Scripture and lead them to the Lord. After they left I started to question whether or not they were serious. (Even though we aren’t supposed to do that my human nature kicked in.) After the day was done, I got on the van excited and suddenly one of my team partners told me that he talked to three girls. He said that the answered him boldly and said yes they knew they were on their way to heaven. They told him that a girl named Sara prayed with them! I was so excited after that. The Lord answered me with comfort that they truly were serious.”

Sara Goodson, Teen Witness, Daytona Missions Trip 2012
Grace Baptist Church, Hinesville, GA

“This has been the most valuable experience I have ever had.
I am 67 years old, and have been a law officer for 37 years.

Nothing else even comes close. Winning one person for our Lord was without comparison.

This is the most wonderful experience I believe is possible other than coming to accept my Lord and Savior.”

Dave Gantt, Adult Team Leader, Southwood Baptist Church,
Tallahassee, FL 2012

Usually we are told not to talk to lifeguards or police officers or the like because they have a job to do. However, today that changed. We were almost done for the day and I was talking to a couple on the boardwalk, but they were not interested. Just after I finished talking to them, two police officers stopped me and asked me what I was doing and making sure I was not selling anything. While I was explaining what I was doing I was able to give both of them a brief version of the plan of salvation. The first officer seemed to be considering what I was saying, and thinking about it.

I thank God that I was able to plant the seed to people that normally I would not be able to talk to.”

James Flint, Teen Witness, Faith Bible Baptist Church, Unionville, VA 2012

Strong and Courageous

“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee:  Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.”

We just completed our 46th Missions Trip to Daytona Beach, Florida on March 20-23, 2013.  We had 39 young people (sharing the gospel with the lost youth of America) and 25 adult team leaders on teams which include 2 boys, and 2 girls and one or two adult Team Leaders.  The Lord, through His power provided strength and courage to all of us and by His grace we were able to overcome difficult circumstances to experience His blessings.

Even though it was cloudy and cold the first day of witnessing, these Strong and Courageous young people won 255 people to Christ.  The second day was warmer and sunny and the young people won 340.  On Saturday, which is the last day of the witnessing venture and only a half day, the Lord provided extra Strength and Courage and the young people won 355 people to the Lord Jesus.  This brings the total for the three days of witnessing to 950.  To God be the glory!

All of us understood that the Lord was with us and we did not have to fear anything because He gave us this promise in Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  For the Lord thy God, is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

God bless all of you 39 young people and 25 team leaders and thank you for allowing God to use you in such a powerful way in winning these people to Christ.

What the Cross of Christ Represents

“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ , by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:14

The unsaved world often times despises the cross on which Jesus Christ gave His life for all to believe on His name and come to a saving knowledge for the salvation of their soul. John 3:16. The world today even strives to take the cross out of any public place where people might see it. But the cross of Christ represents everything to a true believer who has been saved because of what happen on that cross.

Here is what the cross of Christ should represent to all Christians.

The Cross Represents A New Creation. “ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision but a new creature.” Galatians 6:15. When a person gets saved by the grace of God they are not made perfect, but their heart and life does change all because of His grace. “ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new,” II Corinthians 5:17.

The new creature in Christ now has a New Heart. “ And I will give them one heart.” Ezekiel 11:19. The Christians heart now is in tune with the heart of God and the desires for the things of the world changes to desiring God’s will.

The new creature in Christ now has a New Spirit. “ And I will put a new spirit within them.” Ezekiel 11:19. The Lord not only changes a person’s heart, but He also gives them a new attitude. Everyone struggles with having a good attitude, but if you ask the Lord to help you to have a right spirit, He will answer your prayer. Psalm 51:10.

The new creature in Christ now has a New Mind. “ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5. The way to have the mind of Christ is by reading and meditating on the Word of God, so we can shun the worlds influence and think like Jesus does. Philippians 4:8.

The Cross Represents A New Challenge. Ephesians 2: 1-7. Once we are saved it is quit a challenge to get up everyday and serve the Lord from our heart, but the Lord provides for us all we need to serve Him successfully. He gives us joy in our heart at salvation, (John 15 :11), we have the Holy Spirit inside us to lead, guide and help us everyday (John 14:26 ) and finally we have access to the power of God that provides us victory. Acts 4:29.

The Cross Represents A New Communion. I John 1: 1-7. When Jesus is our Savior, we not only have a home in heaven, but we also can have a personal relationship with Him on a consistent basis. Because of the blood sacrifice of Jesus ( Hebrews 10: 12-17) we have a personal fellowship with the Lord. Ephesians 2:13. We have peace from Jesus Himself. Ephesians 2:14. We have access to the Father, bringing all of our petitions to Him. Ephesians 2:18. And finally, when we sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. I John 2:1. To the Christian the Cross of Christ is everything. “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” I Corinthians 1:18.

God’s Way to True Success

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

The Lord wants all of us as Christians to be successful, but not according to the world’s standard of what success means. Only in the Word of God do we find true success, as our text clearly teaches. Let us look at three levels of true success that we find in God’s Word.

First we see that God’s way to true success is Acknowledging Christ in all your ways. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and learn not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him , and he shall direct thy paths.” The way we acknowledge Him is through our trust in Him, the wisdom we acquire from Him and the obedience we apply to His commands in the Bible. Have you acknowledged the Lord in the Salvation of your soul, the Surrender of your life and Service from your heart?

In the second place, God’s way to true success is Avoiding the Pitfalls. “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” Proverbs 4:14,15. There are pitfalls all around us and Satan is actively trying to trap us through temptation so we will fall into some sin that could ruin our life. The best thing all of us can do is listen to God (Proverbs 14:13,) and do what He tells us to do by avoiding the evil path and evil people. Sin hurts and can leave scars on a persons life. Sin is not our friend, the evil path is not our friend and evil people can cause us to fall.” Proverbs 4:16.

Finally, God’s way to true success is Allowing the Lord to work in your Heart and Life. The Lord is continually speaking to us through His Word. We need a personal relationship with the Lord on a daily basis as we read our Bible and pray. We also need to be in a good church where the Lord can speak to us through the teaching and preaching of the Word of God. He wants us to develop a burden for the lost that are all around us ,so that we would strive to win them to Christ. There is someone around your life right now that needs someone to care about them and their lost condition. Would you allow God to give you compassion and use you to really care about others and know the success of winning others to Him?
