MAN has a problem. Everyone is a sinner.
Romans 3:10, 11 “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” Rom. 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
PENALTY for sin to be paid.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man, sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 6:23a – “For the wages of sin is death.”
CHRIST paid the penalty for us:
Romans 5:8 “ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
GOD offers to every person the gift of eternal life:
Romans 6:23b “But the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
RECEIVE the gift by receiving Christ:
John 1:12 “But as many as receive him, to them gave he power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
SAVING FAITH is simply trusting in Jesus Christ alone and what he has done on the cross when he died for the whole world, rather than what we can do to get to heaven. Ephesians 2:8,9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
HOW can a person get saved? Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” You can do that now by simply praying, “Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. I believe you died and rose from the grave to purchase my salvation. Forgive me of my sin and come into my heart and save me from my sin. I do right now, by faith, receive you as my Saviour. Thank you for saving me today.”
ASSURANCE is given to us by God as he promises in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
I John 5:11-13, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
